About Human Arc

Human Arc Ltd is an independent advisory practice founded by Benjamin Tilly

Ben is a digital transformation and capability leader with more than two decades of experience working at the intersection of business (inc. healthcare), marketing technology and organisational change with a particular focus over the past five years on omnichannel and AI.

He has worked with leading pharma organisations including Astellas Pharma, Grünenthal, Vertex Pharmaceuticals, GE Healthcare, Leo Pharma, GlaxoSmithKline and Sanofi, at regional and global levels. He has also worked globally and regionally with companies outside of pharma including IBM, Apple Computers and The BBC.

His work has focused on enabling organisations to adopt new engagement models and build the capability required to operate them effectively.

Human Arc builds on that experience to explore the human side of transformation in healthcare.

  • Ben’s career hasn’t followed a straight line, it has been shaped by a consistent thread: a fascination with how people, systems and technology come together to create meaningful change.

From early on, he was drawn to both science and creativity. An interest in medicine and human behaviour sat alongside a natural inclination towards design, storytelling and problem-solving. That combination has defined his work ever since.

Over more than two decades, Ben has worked across global pharmaceutical organisations and complex, highly regulated environments, helping teams navigate transformation, not just at a strategic level, but in how work actually gets done. His focus has never been technology for its own sake, but how it can enable better decisions, better experiences, and ultimately better outcomes for patients.

What distinguishes his approach is a strong belief that transformation is fundamentally human. Systems, channels and data matter, but adoption, behaviour and capability matter more. Much of his work has therefore centred on bridging that gap: translating strategy into operating models, and ensuring organisations have the clarity, structure and capability to make those models work in reality.

Alongside his formal roles, Ben has continued to invest in understanding people more deeply. His training in areas such as mental health, counselling, and supporting individuals experiencing distress reflects a broader commitment to lead and design with empathy, not just efficiency.

He brings a calm, structured way of thinking to complex problems, but also a genuine curiosity and openness, always looking to learn, refine and improve. Whether working with senior leaders or cross-functional teams, his aim is consistent: to create clarity, build confidence, and help people move forward in a way that feels both practical and sustainable.

Human Arc is a natural extension of that journey, bringing together the principles, patterns and ways of working that have consistently delivered impact, and shaping them into a more focused, intentional offering.

  • Outside of his professional work, Ben’s interests reflect the same balance of precision, creativity and curiosity.

He has a long-standing passion for aviation, motorsport and engineering, drawn to environments where performance, focus and continuous improvement matter. This extends into hands-on projects such as sailing, flying, motor-racing and car restoration, where detail, patience and craftsmanship come together.

He is equally interested in human performance and wellbeing, with a focus on fitness, nutrition and the science behind how we think, feel and operate. This sits alongside a broader interest in psychology, philosophy and the way people make sense of the world.

Creativity also plays an important role. Photography, in particular, provides a different lens (literally and figuratively), through which to observe detail, composition and perspective.

Ben lives in Surrey with his partner Lara, who runs her own international jewellery brand. Their work often overlaps in spirit, both grounded in building something independently, thoughtfully and with a strong sense of identity.

Across all of these interests runs a common theme: a desire to understand how things work, how they can be improved, and how to bring together structure and creativity in a way that feels both purposeful and human.

The Idea Behind Human Arc

  • Human Arc was created to explore a simple observation: Technology is evolving rapidly across healthcare organisations.

  • Artificial intelligence, automation, omnichannel engagement and advanced data platforms are reshaping how companies interact with clinicians and patients.

  • Yet the real challenge of transformation is rarely technological - It is human.

  • Organisations must adapt their leadership models, capabilities and behaviours in order to realise the full potential of new technologies.

  • Human Arc exists to support that process of adaptation.

Why the Name “Human Arc”

  • Technology often advances in sudden leaps.

  • Organisations evolve more gradually.

  • People adapt over time as new ideas, tools and ways of working take shape.

  • This process of organisational evolution forms a human arc — a progression from uncertainty and experimentation to understanding and adoption.

  • Human Arc focuses on helping organisations navigate that journey.
